Parkes Radio Telescope

The CSIRO Radio Telescope is location just a few km to East of the Newell Highway, 20km North of Parkes. Parkes is located in mid Western NSW (Australia)- 365km from Sydney, 708km from Melbourne and 995km from Brisbane. The Telescope was featured in the Australian movie "The Dish" about the use of the telescope in the 1969 Apollo 11 Moon Landing.
The Parkes Telescope is well worth a visit.
