This is my vacation with my Dad and my Brother to Kerela, India. We rented a 1 bedroom, 1 bath house-boat for a day and a night. The house-boat took us to the various backwater Canals of Alleppey, Kerela, India. I cannot put into words how beautiful the area was. THe local people were extremely hospitable and always smiling. These galleries showcase not only the life on the banks of these canals but document the local scenery and the beautiful people and we pass them by on our houseboat.
Life here as you might guess is heavily dependent on these backwaters. Tourism, Fishery and Agriculture are the primary industries. The state of Kerela has the distinction of having highest literacy rate in India.
