As a result of hours of consultation between law enforcement and animal control officers, law enforcement and animal control officers trapped the venomous snake on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.

To ensure fully removal of the glue from the cobra's body, we guided it into a red bucket and took it to a safe area.

The snake was seen crawling onto a porch of a house on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. As it lifted its head, the hood was visible.

When officers confirmed it was the snake, they walked back from the camera crew before moving in to try and capture it.

On Tuesday, police searched the same home after receiving a 911 call there.

The city of Raleigh, N.C., is the state capital. Despite hours of consultation and preparation of law enforcement and animal control officers, a glue trap finally captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday, bowing out a nearly 48-hour ordeal that gained national attention.

A red bucket was used to guide the cobra into a safe location so that the glue could be removed from its body completely.

The snake was seen crawling onto a porch of a house on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. Lifting its head, it was able to see its hood.

Camera crews were moved back after the officers confirmed it was the snake before attempting to catch it.

A 911 call from the same location prompted the search early Tuesday morning.

The ordeal is over at last, said neighbor Joan Nelson.

She said she felt safe and really happy. Now that I'm outside, I can go on my deck and have a walk. Despite this, I feel sorry for the snake.

Having a snake that can spit up to nine feet long can make even a morning dog walk a frightening experience. The African Snakebite Institute cites the snake as extremely dangerous. An animal's venom could cause the victim's nervous system to shut down.

One who is poisoned by the cobra would immediately feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In the next few hours, a heavy fever would occur, as well as respiratory difficulty.

The cobras in this species are not typically biting. It is more likely that they will spray their venom . They are very accurate and go straight for the eyes.

Due to its dangers, Locke advises against keeping this snake as a pet.

The majority of bites occur during sleep. Health problems can linger for years for people who are bit, according to research.

In the late afternoon on Tuesday, police searched 6917 Chamonix Place, near the place where the snake was last spotted.

In March, there was an issue with the animals at that home. In the afternoon, the zebra cobra was spotted on a porch half a mile away.
