| OBJECT OF CRIPPLE MR ONION: The objective of Cripple Mr Onion is to have the highest winning group. NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 2 to 7 Players MATERIALS: 1 Caroc Deck TYPE OF GAME: Card Game AUDIENCE: Adults OVERVIEW OF CRIPPLE MR ONION Cripple Mr Onion began as a fictional card game played by characters in many movies. It became an actual card game in 1993. This game is all about strategy and combinations. Each player attempts to create the best winning combination, each higher than the last. The player with the best winning combination wins the game! SETUP To begin setup, players are dealt ten cards. Each player, after examining their cards, may discard four of them and draw four new cards. Five more cards are then dealt facing up to each player. The dealer’s are left facing down. The game is ready to begin! GAMEPLAY The first player will begin by grouping their cards into a winning group. The next player must then attempt to group their cards into a winning group. If the next player is able to do so, the first player must attempt to combat it with a higher winning combination. This continues left around the table until one player has the highest combination, allowing them to win the hand. Winning Groups in Ascending Order Bagel: 2 cards equaling 20 Two- Card Onion: 2 cards equaling 21 Broken Flush: 3 cards totaling 16-21 with one being a different suit Three- Card Onion: 3 cards equaling 21 Flush: set of 3 cards totaling 16-21 all the same suit Four- Card Onion: 4 cards equaling 21 Broken Royal: combination 678 Five-Card Onion: 5 cards equaling 21 Royal: combination 777 Six- Card Onion: 6 cards equaling 21 Wild Royal: Combination 888 eights are wild Seven- Card Onion: 7 cards equaling 21 Double Onion: 2 Picture Cards, 2 Aces Triple Onion: 3 Picture Cards, 3 Aces Lesser Onion: 4 Picture Cards, 4 Aces Great Onion: 5 Picture Cards, 5 Aces END OF GAME The game comes to an end when no players are able to play a better winning combination.
