Its emplacement also makes it a fantastic place for surfing and windsurfing, as well as a perfect bird watching site where pink flamingos, seagulls, sparrowhawks, avocets, cormorants, ducks, egrets, dunlins, and other wading birds can often be seen.

Outside Oualidia, to the South, the landscape offers excellent walks and boat expeditions to beautiful small sandy coves and rocky cliffs, as well as a fabulous coast from El Jadida to the north to Safi to the south spotted with lovely, mysterious islets.
