Tui Na (pronounced twee-naw) is an expression used to refer to many forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments, therapeutic manipulations and bodywork. Tui Na is typically used to treat emotional and physical discomfort such as restlessness anxiety, insomnia and anger. It is also used in the diagnosis and management of other conditions such as constipation, asthma, arthritis, fatigue, headache, menstrual cramps as well as sports injuries and numerous others. Tui Na isn't intended for leisure or pleasure but instead as part the diagnosis process for specific diseases.

The benefits of Tui Na aren't fully appreciated in Western medicine, however, research demonstrates that it has some benefit in mild to moderate pain particularly when used during times of high stress. 송현동출장 In a July 2021 issue of The American Journal of Sports Medicine four researchers reported on a study of 12 stroke patients who were treated with Tui Na in the period of their hospitalization. Patients had normal symptoms, with minimal levels of fatigue, depression, and anxiety. Three of the twelve Spasticity patients received treatment and showed improvement. Two of the patients did not show any improvements or worsened. There were no differences between the groups regarding treatment effects or the time spent on variables like functioning, pain, or mood.

The researchers analyzed and came to conclusions from twelve articles on Tui Na. One was a meta-analysis and the other was an experiment in crossover, and the six other articles were taken directly from the published article. The meta-analysis was a review of 12 published articles on spasticity and Tui na employing different databases and different reporting formats. It revealed an statistically significant mean change with higher-quality results in spasticity than in tui nua.

The study of crossover is a secondary study that examined the results of two different treatments: physiotherapy combined with physical therapy and the effects of chiropractic treatment on the degree of poststroke upper limb spasticity. Chiropractic care alone was significant advantages over physiotherapy alone, although the difference was not significant. A subgroup comparing patients within a month of the their onset to those with severe and progressive disease showed a significant treatment effect. In this subgroup, chiropractic treatment was superior to all other group. Thus, the researchers concluded that chiropractic care might be beneficial after stroke.

The study that came in third is the largest and the most promising. It evaluated Chinese medical practices with chiropractic in poststroke spinal cord stimulation. Both groups had similar symptoms. SCT is a procedure that increases nerve compression and decreases muscles tone to speed up recovery. This procedure involves inserting needles into specific areas along the spine column. Both approaches can be beneficial, however the Chinese massage practitioners appear to have a distinct advantage regarding pain control and the time required to recover.

The scan was performed by chiropractors who used the diagnostic imaging software. They then used hands-on manipulation to the spine and upper extremities. There was a noticeable improvement in all the areas after the four-week treatment period. Chiropractors showed a higher percentage of improvement than surgeons. The poststroke spasticity reduced by about a month. For most patients the spinal decompression was not necessary. The procedure didn't cause stiffness or soreness.

While chiropractors had a greater success rate than surgeons, they were more likely to successfully treat patients. Those patients randomly assigned to chiropractors had a significantly greater rate of total improvement by the end of the four-week poststroke Spinal decompression time. The postoperative appointment showed no distinction between the treatment groups in the initial month. Random assignment was used to determine which group had the most improvement. It was surprising to see that chiropractors showed greater improvement than surgeons both in the preoperative as well as the postoperative visits.

Drs. Maurer, Kornmehl, and Jick who all are recognized leaders in the field of spinal treatment. This study is particularly notable due to the importance of chiropractic treatment for patients suffering from stroke as well as their families.
