Every man driver nation, my top three likes and dislikes of the 2017 Acura MDX [, Music, ], so wow those clouds are quite ominous. Aren'T they hey everyone, Dave Erickson here major refresh for the MDX in 2017, a lot of little bullet points, little details that all include on every man driver comm. I don't want to bog down this video with all that terminology and jargon and all that kind of stuff. You can research that by going to my website - and since I do they just arrived, one take walk-around video this about a week or so ago. Let'S skip that part two, no need to show what I look like in the backseat or you know how to start it up. That kind of thing so today will be just my top three likes and dislikes, and I encourage you to include your top 3 likes and dislikes in the comments section below that way. We can continue the conversation after this video is over. So let's get started. [ Music ], like number one, this bowl new diamond Pentagon grill. I like it a little flavor flav on the HEC, your icon, but I think it's kind of cool. I really like how these little black diamonds are on a horizontal view are laid out in the front. You have the camera there just below the accurate icon. I think it looks pretty cool kind of says: hey I'm an accurate here. I come watch out or off to the right, the right side, so I can pass on the left. I think it looks pretty sweet plus the jewel eye, LED headlights, always a nice accent to the front, but I think it's a good thumbs up. What do you think? Not everyone likes it, but I do dislike number one in no particular order. That'S just the one I'm doing. First is cargo volume. First of all, you can open the trunk lid there's a button here in the key fob is one inside the vehicle can also put your hand right there, which I will do it'll pop up. There'S your backup camera by the way. So, behind this back row of seats, three rows about 15 cubic feet of volume wish there was more also kind of a high lift height here, so a little bit higher. If it was a bit lower being easier to get things in here, so just 15 cubic feet of volume behind this back row fold these down what you do manually it'd be nice to have a little button here on the side, I'm trying to be critical people, You say I'm too nice about cars and since I'm being critical, so behind the second row, the middle row about 38 cubic feet of volume. I wish that was in the 40 range. That would be nice fold down all three. Now you look at about 68 cubic feet of volume for storage. Again, you have a captain's chairs in this particular model, so that middle row doesn't allow you to go completely flat. So that's not as awesome as it could be. There is some storage right here. Push this button down so inside there you have a little bit compartment, but I don't know I got ta. Think of something and that's one of the first things that comes to mind is cargo volume, not that great 15:38. 68. I'M out so my number to like about the MDX is fuel economy. see this has a 3.5 liter v6 mated to a 9 speed automatic transmission variable cylinder management, which means when you're going down the highway at highway speeds. It'Ll drop down to four cylinders for better fuel economy, and I mentioned before I think I mentioned before three drive modes: we've got Comfort, Sport and normal here they are dynamic, driving modes, comfort, normal and sport. So yeah, okay, good and I've been right there normal for most of the time now. Fuel economy estimates are nineteen city, twenty six highway. I put two hundred and sixty four miles on it, we're getting to the punchline people. So, looking here at my trip counter, looking at what I have left in terms of fuel, I still have 157 miles of range left and my average 21.9, and that is on par for what Acura is estimating as the mixed driving number. So I'm really happy when they deliver on what they put there on paper so 21.9, it's probably 22, because I've been Eileen for a little while 22 is the average 22 is what I've been getting just like number two is the lack of ground clearance 7.3 inches To be exact, I know this is an all wheel drive vehicle, but this is certainly not a vehicle. You want to be taking off-road as a go-to vehicle to do so. It does have those three driving modes - comfort, normal and sport, but nothing to me about this says yeah, I'm confident I'm going to the ORV park, which is not a bad thing. I mean it's a luxury, three row SUV. Maybe you don't want to take it off-road, but with 7.3 I'm not taking it off road. I'M out. look these up and final, like about the MDX, is safety and technology. Is that too, is that one well safety technologies? I'M not talking about airbags and blank handles more specifically, the Accu watch feature so adaptive cruise control collision mitigation, braking forward collision warning lane, departure warning Lane, Keeping Assist system, there's road departure mitigation, not to mention remote engine start. I guess I am mentioning that blind spot information, rain sensing wipers led puddle lights, rear, cross-traffic, monitor and the backup, camera and front camera and, last but not least, Bluetooth technology. So when I'm driving or if I want to plug in or connect my phone to the vehicle, I can listen to a podcast hands-free. I can answer phones with the steering wheel mounted controls, so all that stuff keeps me safe eyes on the road. That'S what I like so my third and final dislike about the MDX. Can you guess it any guesses, any guesses, the double screen? Can we do away with a double screen and go with one major screen, whether it's a vertical iPad, looking or maybe a longer wider screen? I just don't want to deal with going back and forth and one of them not being touchscreen the other one being touchscreen. I do like that the feel when you touch the screen, it's a nice little vibration to it. So you know you've engaged it, but you know you're pressing down here for navigation to move. What'S up there, this dial changes that up there, which are just a little bit something that popped out about this. I do like they've done a good thing here with the screen visor here. So when you you want to worry about glare, so much, you can probably see it in the screen yeah. You can see it in the screen, at least in my screen, that it's clear, but why not just do one full screen come on. I'M thinking of something - and this is what I don't like I've kind of just been rolling with it like. Okay, that's what you do, that's what you do home I can. I can adapt to it. Everyone can adapt to something over time, but this is one that if I had to find a gripe, that's what I'd like to see make that one screen. That'S all I'm saying and since you've been such a great audience today, I want to give you one additional bonus like, and that is on this particular model, the wood trimmed interior. I think it gives it a warm upscale feel, above and beyond the luxury package, that it is so that's my bonus enjoy and for all you hecklers out there, who prefer more negativity I'll, give you one more dislike and that's the fact that there is no sliding Sunroof for the back passengers, they got one up here for the front passengers, but more and more, you see in the three row SUVs some of the two row: SUVs having a Sun, Visor or moonroof in the middle row. That'S what I'd like to see so there you go one more negativity! Oh wait. Did you notice? I was turning my hat backwards when I was doing the dislikes. I almost forgot to do that. So the MSRP on this refreshed 2017 Acura MDX Schad super handling. All-Wheel drive is around fifty seven thousand dollars. So that's what you can expect with this vehicle.
