It doesn't mean they will do a good job on your automobile.

Unbelievably, in my search for the right shop three out of four shops overfilled the engine with oil by as much as two quarts. That is almost as bad as driving with to little oil in the engine.

Consider how long the shop has been in business. Repair shops that do a good job tend to stay in business for a long time. However, this does not always hold true. You may find a shop that has recently opened with excellent service too if you take the time to look around.

Some questions you might be prepared to ask are questions regarding pricing. You need to know what they charge for certain services. Record these or ask for a written brochure or paper so you can keep track of the pricing. Your new mechanic will likely be happy to provide you with written information regarding their car repair pricing. They want you to feel comfortable with their service.
