First Monday Trade Days may be an event that is well-known in East Texas, but that doesn't mean that it can't keep hundreds of hundreds of people traveling to in the Canton area Canton for four days each month. They are open from Thursday until Sunday, on the Monday before First Monday every month, hundreds of vendors will set up shop with hundreds of opportunities for shopping.



The first First Monday Park was established more than a century ago as flea markets has now become the home of some of the most innovative, cutting-edge furniture, antiques, and collectibles that can be found almost anywhere. Over the past 150 years, many things have changed in the Original First Monday Park; however, the authentic, down-to-earth human connections between vendors and patrons is what makes people come back time and time again.

According to people around this market, concept was born. First Monday Trade Days started in the 1850's as the circuit judge was able to visit Canton on the 1st Monday of each month. canton first monday from all across the county came to Canton to observe their court proceedings. In the course of time, residents would bring their own merchandise, whether it was livestock, produce or other unique items, to sell or trade. Then in the year 1965 First Monday outgrew the city's Town Square so it was moved to its present site. The rest is history...


First Monday Trade Days is comprised of a range of private sellers . The chances are that no matter how many times you've visited you'll never see the entire market. The flea marketplace is located across hundreds of acres that offer over 700,00 square meters of shopping.


The event on First Monday is free, however, the majority parking facilities surrounding the trade area charge $5 to park.
