The array of Asian art is vast, from Chinese artwork, Korea, Central and Southeast Asia, India, China, contemporary Japan, and various art forms from Neolithic to Victorian times. The diversity of the collection is in Japanese and Chinese art ranging from Neolithic ceramics to contemporary artwork and paper crafts, from wooden and terracotta into terracotta and lacquer ware. The most popular form is that of Japanese art, although there are also many western-style paintings and drawings in many parts of Asia.

One of the major advantages of western-style paintings in Asian art is their ease and attractiveness. Western painting has been inspired by nature, particularly by the landscape, to ensure a painting can be generated from natural imagery. The beauty of natural objects along with the vibrant colours in the environment were viewed as inspiration. Japanese art has ever been influenced by nature, in particular from the landscape. This is reflected in the richness of pure imagery and the ability to make amazing works from natural sources.

Another advantage of western-style paintings in Asian art is that they have less complicated, detailed scenes as they are easier to replicate from a picture or picture . The graphics in these paintings are more subjective and also have greater depth than the conventional Asian paintings.

The artwork of early China is supposed to date back about 2500 BC and to have spread through India and Mesopotamia. The painting of those early pieces comprises simple geometric shapes with flowing lines. It also includes animals and people which aren't part of the classical artwork but are common subjects in Chinese paintings now.

While the majority of western art in Asia are motivated by western art, other parts of the world include other kinds of artwork from other regions of Asia. For instance, a lot of Chinese paintings feature Buddhist monks and Buddhist landscapes and this is often combined with oriental elements like the use of bright colours, bold colors and shapes that are unusual. There are some bits of modern Chinese art in Asian nations, that are similar in style to those found in Western paintings but were influenced by the effect of Western art.
