In general, gold is inversely associated to the stock market. Rare-earth elements are a historical safe sanctuary, so if investors get skittish about stocks or fearful of what might occur in that market, they tend to purchase gold, pressing its cost higher.


Gold and silver efficiency depends on more than just the stock exchange, though. Since rare-earth elements are, amongst other things, a store of worth, their rates tend to increase when times are difficult, whether those bumpy rides be economic, financial, monetary, or geopolitical in nature. History also shows they perform well when inflation climbs up.
