http://www.brendasbread.org/__media__/js/netsoltrademark.php?d=nudismvideo.xyz/videos/thanks-for-the-great-comments-1455.html with a Feminist Twist:
I've been reflecting lately about why there are not more women, especially young girls, involved in naturism. Most of the time, it's clear we live in a society where people are afraid of nudity, ashamed of it, and deem it only okay during sex or bathing. But as it pertains to girls and nudity, is there another factor at play called patriarchy? There was a recent post from a feminist blog entitled "Go Nude; it's great for everybody (but particularly for girls)" about nudism and feminism that got me thinking.
Nigel Keer "naked rambler"
First, the "naked rambler" storyline from a feminist perspective. A man named Nigel Keer was recently was fined under the Public Order Act for walking naked at Otley Chevin, a popular nature spot in the united kingdom. That is all he was doing. He was spotted by a woman who had a "distressed frown" on her face, according to the off-duty police officer that stopped him. (This narrative is a lot like the case of unclothed hiker John Cropper, except he wasn't seen by anyone else. Maybe it would have turned out differently if a female witness had been involved.) This woman was never identified, never testified, and not spoken to. As a feminist would immediately point out, the girl was supposed to be a "casualty," helpless in front of this wandering nude man. Paradoxically, this officer unwittingly violated girls everywhere by determining this female victim was distressed and needed his protection.
Nevertheless, in among the opinions, a woman identified with the female victim. beach gallery says,
Yes, many women have been victims of sexual assault or rape, and I could comprehend a lone woman feeling threatened or bothered seeing Nigel. When they attack. It does not make sense to arrest someone for simply "causing alarm" because they're doing something uncommon.

A lone naked man is an presumed predator, maybe even a rapist? As the writer, CP Reece, intelligently comments, rape has nothing related to nudity, but with exercising power over someone.
Reece points out the hypocrisies of female nudity. Breasts usually are not even acceptable to show in public breastfeeding. She notes that we live in a patriarchal society where men have always had control over how much skin ladies can show in public. Is this why there aren't more young women involved in naturism? If women relate taking off their clothing merely with sexy modeling, acting, and displaying their bodies, then they might believe they need to seem good enough to go bare in front of others. Of course looking great means being tall and lean like the unattainable ideal we see everywhere in the media.
"I am just leanin' against a tree, enjoyin my new jeans."
For female nudity, patriarchy appears to play an important role, especially in regards to topless rights. http://www.lz6688.com/home/link.php?url=https://nudismpictures.net/tube/beach/spying-nudist-beach.php says, "To require girls to cover up their breasts in public is an extremely visible expression of patriarchal control." Truly girls do not have to cover up breasts because they're breasts, but because they're women. http://www.safestearpiercing.com/__media__/js/netsoltrademark.php?d=nudismhq.com/contents/29509023/2.html reminds us of the policeman in the documentary, My Daughter the Teenage Nudist, who, between the topless girl and man, went after the girl to put her top back on. "Why?" Reese inquires. Because she has a vagina. It's a sexist, partriarchal law; or in this case, a sexist standard imposed by this officer, since it's legal to go unclothed in public in the united kingdom. It exists in a society where men hold the power.
They got the right to go topless first. Will they be out enjoying unclothed hiking before us ladies? Sounds insane, and I hope that won't be the situation..
Sending back to the title, how is naturism good for everyone and particularly for women? It cultivates gender equality, which is especially excellent for women whose bodies for once aren't being put on display for male enjoyment. (Yes there are guys who'll still stare or join for that purpose, but it is a completely different atmosphere in an actual naturist setting. As Reece says to ladies, "a naturist man will look you in a person's eye!") Naturism also advocates positive body image and observes all body types outside of the media's ideal. Many people are naked and equal, free of any sexist textile constraints and with much less stereotyping, ruling, labeling, profiling, etc.
