When you consider the best fitness smartwatch, you're probably not going to head into a sports store and pick one off the shelf. Instead, you'll head to an online retailer that sells fitness and health equipment. And while most online retailers have similar models and prices, they vary greatly in terms of features and reliability.

Some of the best fitness smartwatch options are Garmin fenix 6 versus those made by other manufacturers. The difference between these two watches comes down to technology. While both sports watches offer some features Garmin fenix 6 can track more using GPS sensors for hiking and biking. Other features include workout timers and heart rate monitors. Meanwhile, the Garmin fenix 6 comes with a chest strap for more accurate monitoring of your heart rate, although the heart rate monitor on many other models can be a bit inaccurate.

Another choice is the Garmin NuMetrex 50M, which comes in at number four in this list of the best fitness smartwatch. The key differentiating factor here is the GPS tracking. This feature lets you receive real-time location data including distance covered and speed and other metrics. In addition, the NuMetrex has the best fitness management features available, letting you manage your calorie consumption and activity level in multiple ways. The only thing the Garmin fenix 6 can't do is to track workouts or heart rate.

At number five is the Basch Athletic Spinfus 3. While the price might put some people off, the Basch Athletic Spinfus 3 has some pretty impressive features, including GPS for your walking, running and cycling activities. On the downside, there isn't much additional functionality, so you won't be able to mix it up with other watches like the Garmin helix 6 and the Mio Motiva. It also has a limited range. If you need more accuracy or want more features, then the Garmin fenix 6 or the Mio Motiva are better options.

Number six on our best watches list is the Fitbit Regimen Smartwatch. Fitbit has had great success with their line of watches in the past, so they don't come up short when it comes to integrating their technology into a smartwatch. Like the Fitbit Regiment, the Fitbit Exergica has a calorie counter and workout graphs, but it also comes with an advanced heart rate monitor and has other useful features. As a runner or a cyclist, these features are great.

Number seven on our best watches list is the Milgard Phosphor Alta HRW Watch. While it doesn't have the features of other watches on this list, it does the job that many people need done from a wristwatch. Instead of relying on a monitor, it provides you with a calendar and a clock. A useful feature is the ability to set specific workout goals for your day, week or month. You can also get real time training information.

Number eight on our best watches list is the Reebok Easytone 3. This watch has one of the longest battery lives on this list at five hours. It has many advanced features, including workout routines, heart rate monitors and GPS location. On the downside, it lacks the durability of the other watches on this list and the price is a little high. However, this watch will get the job done.

Number nine on our best watches list is the Fitpolo Elite Fast Cycling Smartwatches. The design is a bit different than some of the other models, but it works. This watch has a heart-rate monitor and some other advanced features, like the Fitpolo Flexibility Screen. The only con is that the battery life is a bit short-lived. But if you are serious about your cycling or fitness routine, this is a good choice.
