Overlooked by the mighty fortifications belonging to the Ribat and Kasbah, the medina in Sousse just begs being investigated.

10. Chott el Djerid
This sprawling salt pan (most easily reached on 1 day journey from the desert community of Tozeur) is a desolate and otherworldly arena which wows all who actually visit with its stark and brutal beauty.

11. Hammamet
