Step 1. Think of something

Step 2. Find a good idea for that thing

Step 3. Notice yet? You're already doing it! Congratulations, you're almost there! Keep going!

I'm kidding, obviously there are nine more steps before you start your company, but this is one of the most important ones: come up with a good idea. Once you've got an idea of what you want, there are a few things you should consider.

The first thing you'll need is a basic outline. You might already have this , or maybe it's something that's way too simple for your liking. Regardless of the case, it'll be needed before writing out the actual steps to starting your company.

There are different types of outlines out there, all depending on what kind of business you're trying to start and what timing works best for you. Some outline steps focus on the processes and resources that will be used throughout the process, while others focus solely on getting things started as quickly as possible. If you're just starting out , you should focus on the process and what your final outcome will be.

Step 4. Write it down!

Don't rely on your memory to remember every detail of the steps you took to get this point. Get a notebook and write down detail info and notes taken along the way. It'll help you remember certain things, and if you think back to previous business attempts, it'll also help you remember why they didn't work. That can be helpful in coming up with other ideas for projects that may or may not utilize the same resources that didn't work out in the past.

Step 5. Set your goals

Having goals is important to the success of your company, so you should write down what yours are. This will help you focus on getting things done quicker , as well as know what to do if you hit a bump in the road that wasn't planned for. You can also use this time to think about how much money you'll need along the way, and where exactly that's going to come from.

Step 6. Know your resources, and if possible, how much they'll cost

If you're just starting out, chances are your resources aren't completely unlimited. Therefor additional hints to know how much everything will cost before wasting money on things you don't need at this point. If there's a way around this , try to find a loophole that will help you reduce the cost of whatever it is you're working on.

Step 7. Create your company, and choose how it will be ran

Chances are, if you're reading this article, you don't want to go through the steps just to create another idea that you don't have enough time to complete. Instead, keep in mind how much work your business will require you to do. Will this project be done on your own? Are there other people who'll help along the way?

Step 8. Put some things together

Now that you have your business idea down, create a list of items you'll need to put together to fit the concept. If you're planning on running this as an LLC, there are several things you'll want to do first, but if it's something you're going to do alone , these steps won't be needed.

Step 9. Write out your tasks

Create out a list of tasks that will need to be completed before starting any major task in the future. This can include research and gathering materials , along with other things that you need to do before starting any type of business . It'll be important in remembering what steps and things were done at this point for future reference.

Step 10. Get organized!

If you're planning on putting your business together quickly, then this step is for you. It won't guarantee that you'll be successful at getting things done , but it'll certainly up the odds of it . It'll also come in handy again later on when other people are doing other tasks , as well as aid in other ways down the road.

Step 11. Plan your time accordingly

Time management is one of the most important aspects to starting a new business . If you can plan out your time to make sure that everything gets done, you're much more likely to succeed at getting the job done. This step will make a good amount of sense later on in the process, as well as give you a better idea of what everything needs to be done by.

Step 12. Enjoy the ride, and don't forget to enjoy yourself

Starting a business can be fun, but it can also be stressful and time consuming. If you're not careful, it can easily become too much for anyone to handle . It's important to remember that this is something that you won't achieve overnight , and that there are plenty of steps left before your company is ready for launch. Keep in mind that even if things never get off the ground, there's always another chance to succeed at your endeavors in the future.

I've started a few businesses in the past, and many of them never made it to the end because I was too busy doing other things to get them done or didn't have the time. There was always other stuff to do, and if I wasn't working on other ideas, there were others who would be getting them done while I was at work. Eventually, these projects came together and became successful. If you read through this article and take it seriously , you'll be able to figure out if it's something you want to accomplish or not . Hopefully this will help you in your endeavor , and will help ease your mind a bit in case it doesn't work out.
