| Talk to the mechanic. This is the final and most important step you can take. You know what the building looks like and all the certifications and memberships they belong to by now. You need to know what the mechanic knows. Before speaking to the mechanic do a little research on your own. You might not be able to perform the repairs after you've looked a few things up but this way you will know if he's a quality mechanic or if he's just blowing smoke.  You've got all kinds of gauges right there on your dashboard. Keep an eye on all of them and make sure there's nothing funny. If something's too high or too low, you might want to get it checked. Another thing to watch out for is that stupid "check engine" light that sometimes pops on and stays on. This is often not a big deal, just a problem with a loose wire or something, but you should get it checked next time you're in. There are many repairs that if not done correctly leads to more damages in your car, it will be a complete wastage of your money and time.
