Government in Cyprus is in support of Blue Flag program, which promotes clean and environmentally friendly beaches. This system is owned and operated and operated by one independent and also non profit organization, known as Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). On the basis of implementing safety procedures, service quality, eco favorable guidelines of water quality as well as sewage management, in addition to their unspoiled natural beauty, I've created a moderate selection of seven beaches.

Beaches mentioned as family friendly had been granted with Blue Flag award, while the remaining beaches are selected primarily due to the impressive natural beauty of theirs.

Family friendly beaches:

1. Dhekelia Beach (Larnaca) - located in village of Oroklini found Larnaca district. This's among those gorgeous, environmentally helpful gems that offer clean waters, sandy environment, environment that is safe (lifeguards), disabled accessibility, restaurants and bars and is readily accessible on foot, bicycle or a car. Additional attractions are in type of water sports offered, such as: scuba diving, wind-surfing, fishing etc.

2. McKenzie beach resort ( Larnaca ) - located in Larnaca municipality, the beach begins shortly as you leave Larnaca airport, unfolding in front of you as you drive in the path of the town. The shore is quieter version, compared to Phinikoudes beach, which is the principle beach which fronts the promenade. McKenzie beach is renowned for the white sand of its, clean and shallow sea. On offer are huge variety of eating places, tavernas, water sports services (scuba diving, surfing) with great range of private apartments and small hotels nearby.

3. Fig Tree Bay (Protaras) - founded in Protaras District. This beach is considered by British contained remembrance of a lone, hundreds of years old Fig Tree which develops simply up from the Beach. This's a very well-liked beach with the Protaras District, for all those who actually know about it. It wasn't sign-posted from nearby roads, so look for signs indicating place of Salparo Hotel apartments and that will provide you close to the beach itself. The beach offers water skiing facilities, paragliding or you are able to simply enjoy the clean waters of its blending with sandy surroundings.

4. Nissi Beach (Ayia Napa) on a tranquil Nissi Bay is a wonderful sandy beach with calm, clean, eye catching turquoise ocean waters and great views. Geographically it is configured in such a way that it's sheltered from the wind. Being just 3 kilometers away from Ayia Napa, it is a lot quieter then the town swimming pool itself.

"Nature at it is best" type of beaches:

5. Lara bay (Paphos) - located where developer's hand hasn't yet fully covered, on the north west coastal aspect of the island - on the Akamas Peninsula. Lara bay is situated on the Paphos edge, roughly 8 km provided by Ayios Georgios. It's accessible only by 4x4 or even by hiking. This is a' nature at its best', almost deserted sandy beach. It's one of the few remaining havens because of the green and loggerhead Turtle to nest. The beach is restricted in summer that is high as the turtles are nesting. Not recommended for children.

6. Coral Bay (Paphos) - is among best known shores in Western Cyprus. Being put in the Peyia Municipality of Paphos, the swimming pool is aproximatelly ten minutes drive from Paphos. The beach includes a lovely long curved stretch of golden sand that falls in between 2 headlands. Calm and shallow waters offer safe swimming environment for children and swimmers-novices. For those trying to find a water adventure, nicely equipped diving, water skiing and canoeing clubs are widely available.
