OBJECTIVE OF MONOPOLY BID: Be the first player to collect three sets of properties
NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 2 – 5 players
MATERIALS: 32 Action Cards, 50 Money Cards, 28 Property Cards
TYPE OF GAME: Auction, Set Collection
AUDIENCE: Kids, Adults

INTRODUCTION OF MONOPOLY BID
In 2001, Hasbro expanded upon the Monopoly property with a little card game called Monopoly Deal. This game was Hasbro’s attempt at capturing the essence of Monopoly in card game form, and it did quite well. In fact, the game is still available on the shelves 19 years later far surpassing the average shelf life of games.

Riding that wave of success, Hasbro has published a brand new entry for the Monopoly property in 2020 called, Monopoly Bid. For this game, Hasbro places all of the focus on the auction, and it makes for a very exciting and fast paced game.

MATERIALS
To play Monopoly Bid, you will need the game and a space to play. The game does not take much room, only requiring space for the draw and discard piles and player’s property sets. The game includes the following:

MONEY CARDS
There are fifty money cards in this game with values ranging from 1 – 5.

ACTION CARDS

There are thirty two action cards in this game. Wild cards count as any property the player needs it to be. A property set must have at least one actual property in it. A set cannot contain all Wilds.

The Draw 2 card allows the Auction Host to draw an additional two cards during their turn.

The Steal card allows the Host to steal a property from an opponent.

The Nope card can be played at any time, and it cancels an action card played by an opponent. For example, if the Host plays a Steal card, any opponent at the table may stop the action by playing a Nope card. A Nope card can also be canceled by another Nope card. All action cards played are discarded once the turn has resolved.

PROPERTY CARDS

There are 28 property cards in this game. Set requirements vary based on the property set. Each property card has a number in the corner that tells the player how many cards are in that set. There are property sets of 2, 3, and the railroad set requires 4.

Property sets can be broken up with the use of Wilds. For example, if Player 1 has 2 Railroads and 2 Wilds, Player 2 may also have 2 Railroads and 2 Wilds.

SET UP

Shuffle the property cards and place the pile face down in the center of the playing space. Shuffle the action cards and money cards together and deal five cards to each player. Place the remaining cards face down next to the property cards as a draw pile. Any player who did not receive money from the deal discards their whole hand and draws five more cards.

THE PLAY
During each round, a different player will be the Auction Host. The role of Auction Host begins with the youngest player and passes left each turn. At the beginning of each turn, every player draws a card from the draw pile. The draw begins with the host and passes left around the table.

Once each player has drawn a card, the Auction Host may play any action cards from their hand. They may play as many as they wish. Other players may play Nope! in response if they wish. After the Auction Host has finished playing action cards, the auction may begin.

The Host begins the auction by 사설토토 the top property card over from the property pile. Each player, including the Host, secretly decides how much money they are going to bid on that property. Players do not have to bid, but they should keep that secret as well. When each player is ready, the Host counts down and says, 3..2..1..Bid! All the players at the table show their bid for the property. The highest bid takes the property. If there is a tie, the bidding continues until someone wins the bid. If nobody wants the bid, or if the tie is not broken, the property card is placed on the bottom of the property pile. The player who won the property places their money on the discard pile and puts the property card face up in front of them. Everyone else returns their money to their hand.

The player to the left of the Auction Host becomes the new host. Every player draws a card, the Host plays their action cards, and a new auction takes place. Play like this continues until one player has collected three sets of properties

At any time during the game, players may make deals with each other to swap properties.

WINNING
The first player to complete three sets of properties wins the game.
