Back to the Vancouver Rodeo for its closing night on Saturday, July 5. Boy what a change in the lighting -- gloomy, dark clouds and rain as the evening progressed. The lights did no good until it actually became nighttime, after 9:00, and then they were quite useless without a flash for this kind of action. I only used a flash once, during the naming of the rodeo "Queen" and her consorts. I wanted to do my best with available light and so kept boosting my ISO and lowering my shutter speed. But for the final activities I really didn't come out with much that was usable because I kept my shutter speed at 1/250" which didn't let enough light in. Oh well, it was a learning experience!
