Meet Chance!

Chance is a cat that my friend/host Jim "rescued" from the Humane Society!

I figure Chance was the victim of some serious abuse, because even though he has "adopted" Jim and has adapted well to being part of Jim's "habitat", he remains very nervous and skitterish around other people. When I first came, if he saw me he would take off running...

Well, it's been about 9 days since I came here at the time of this writing (November 10, 2012). I right away began extending my friendship to Chance, taking the time to pet him a bit here and there, and bit by bit he has warmed up to me. I do have a way with animals, cats and dogs pick up on the fact that I like them and like many others Chance has been responding to me. Now, although he is still a bit skitterish, when he sees me he is likely to come over and pick up some lovin' before running off!

He obviously has an eye condition and one or two other things that Jim will, over time, have checked out. But for now, at least Chance has one more human friend!

So, recently the Humane Society asked Jim if he could take some "cute" photos of Chance, something that could help tell a "success story". Although Jim has a cell phone camera and Chance is still skitterish around me, I have decided to adopt this as a "personal project", and I'll be posting Chance Portraits in this little gallery! Stay tuned!
