Here I'm testing the casual indoor portrait abilities of three nice new lenses: the Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS, the EF 24-70 f/2.8L, and the EF 85mm f/1.2L. My grandson was reluctantly kind enough to sit and allow me to take several with each lens at several settings. All shots were handheld at all settings (the 17-55 on the Canon 30D at ISO 400, the other two on the 5D at IO 800), which was a real test because I don't have steady hands anymore and would normally not do this without a tripod. Each lens was great! I have to say "Wow" at the IS if the 17-55: sharp at all settings, and "Wow" at the background bokeh of the 85mm at f/1.2. All but the 24-70 at f/4 were quite sharp, and with that one image you have to enlarge it to see it.
THIS GALLERY IS NOT AN ATTEMPT AT GREAT PORTRAITURE, but an attempt to analyse lenses for use! Have fun!!!
