I came back to the airfield in Vancouver, WA (it's part of the historic Fort Vancouver complex). I packed my 1D Mk III with the 70-200 f/2.8 IS and determined to practice my panning technique and to check out hoe the Mk III performs with this type of shooting.

I should say that I'm inexperienced in this -- that is, shooting a moving object at a slow enough shutter speed to capture the blur of motion but also (hopefully) to keep the moving object in focus. So, I threw out a number of shots because I couldn't keep up. Of the rest, some were a bit soft and a good number were quite sharp. Some were sharp enough to enlarge a lot!
