Today was a bright sunny day, but I wasn't feeling very motivated -- I sat around watching TV and messing on the computer until late in the afternoon, and just pondered my lack of motivation.
Finally, I chose to get out on my bike with my camera! It was late afternoon, so I figured I'd take advantage of the nice directional light wherever I could. I figured it was too late to make a long bike/bus combo trip to a local wetlands, so I decided to go a bit farther than last week's trip to the nearby business park and explore.
Also, I made a key decision! I decided to pack not only my 5D Classic and 24-105 combo, but also my EF 70-200 f/2.8 IS lens, a "workhorse" lens that is big and fairly heavy -- I'd say it outweighs the camera/lens combo that I've been using!
As the title says, Proof of Concept -- having just this combo of the body and these two lenses will set me up for a big variety of shooting -- street and event photography especially. Yeah, I didn't bring a tripod or monopod, but I find for most of those types of shooting one is not particularly useful, especially when the light is good!
And so, off I went, and, you will see, I found a variety of subjects to shoot!
