And finally, to graphically illustrate the clipping, I again did the Alt/Expose thing and here is the screen shot. The white means that the areas has been "blown" despite all the recovery efforts.

In other words, we have seen three levels for "whites": "Safe", which is to expose them at +2 EV, "Pushing It" by exposing them to +3 EV, and then "Blowing It" by exposing them at +4 EV, something that I wouldn't advise doing to a bride's white wedding dress:)!
