I went back to Critter Lake, armed with my new Canon 100-400 L zoom lens, to try to capture better pictures of the elusive Blue Herons, of which I suspected there were more than one who frequented these ponds. I first noticed a lot of redwing blackbirds which I hadn't seen before, and of course the ducks and the geese were there, but I was not disappointed: there was a heron at each of the little lakes.
