The Canon 85L: A View Within A View

The Canon 85mm f/1.2L lens is hefty not just in size and weight, but also in the huge aperture that is a key to its performance.

Feeling playful, I decided to present a couple shots of this lens and a recognizeable background, taken with my 1D Mk III with a 24-70 lens. First, you see a Canon 30D with a 50mm lens attached next to the 85L, then a crop from that shot of just the 85.

Next, I put the 85 on a bean bag, and positioned it so you could see the 30D "through the lookinglass" of the wide aperture.

A bit of fun that some may find interesting, especially if you're considering buying this lens!
