A well timed and beautiful capture where the vibrant blue sky contrasts beautifully with the lighting on the wings. Wonderful clarity and detail in this outstanding photograph. VV++
The sacred ibis was viewed as the living, earthly form of Thoth, the ancient Egyptian god of wisdom, writing, and magic. Its long, curved beak resembled a scribe's pen and the crescent moon, linking the bird to Thoth's domains of knowledge and lunar cycles. Thoth was frequently shown in art and temple carvings as a man with the head of an ibis or entirely as the bird itself. People treated the birds as holy incarnations of the deity walking the earth.
Your beautiful photo has well captured this bird's graceful posture. ~VVVVV+++~
