Zhongdian, "Lost Horizon" by James Hilton in 1993 novel, recently changed its name to Shangri-La.
Surrounded on all sides by snow-capped mountains, dense primeval forests, alpine lakes, and lush grassland, Shangri-La is a haven of peace.
