This monument, amidst the construction and the tourists, is the exact location of where the Guillatine officially wrapped it up for King Loius XVI as well as Marie Antionette. When you see my photos of The Versailles (not yet posted) you will begin to understand why people felt this head separating experience was necessary. Marie's last words to her executioner - "I did not do it on purpose".
