Built in 1814 it was the home of Mayor Nicholas Girod, who planned to free Napolean from imprisonment with the help of a pirate band. Girod intended to bring Napoleon to this refuge, but Napoleon died before the mission to free him could be undertaken. It is now a very popular bar.
