This is from the lookout called Cloud Cap on the east site of Rim Drive.
In this case cold and windy means a balmy 17F with a 30mph wind. By late afternoon
the wind had picked up to over 40mph with gusts topping out around 50mph. Squall
lines would come across the lake from the north about every half hour causing a white-out.
The whole lodge would whistle an rattle. We sat by the fire and had soup for lunch.
