Dockland

Hamburg, Germany

The Dockland office building is formed like a ship and is located on the north bank of the river Elbe opposite the Hamburg container terminal.
The site itself is a protruding spit of land used as a dock until 2004 for the ferry terminal to England.

The building is part of the 'Pearl Chain' - a concept for the redevelopment of the riverbank in the centre of the city.
For container ships and passenger liners this position marks the entrance to the Hamburg Harbor.

An innovative design. Hamburg has certainly changed since 1953..as in most places I imagine. I'm enjoying it through your excellent images. The people lend scale for added interest. a beautifully prcessed B&W. Big Vote.
