Crane Migration

I set out to get a photo of the colors in the sky at sundown when I heard the
terrific noise that the cranes make when flying over to their Winter resting areas.
I counted 218 in this photo but there were thousands more.

Always one of my favorites to watch... cranes or snow geese. Here in south Texas, we are lucky to receive thousands of sandhill cranes from the north. All who come to Texas for the winter. V

At least 20,000 of them come right here to SE Arizona and I love going out to see them. They are amazing when they fly in each night to roost. And the sound is also amazing. Great shot, Tom. Thanks for sharing. ~
