Niederwald Temple

Ruedesheim, Germany

Built in 1788 by the Earl of Ostein, as an attraction. During the Romantic era of the 19th Century, the temple became the center of many famous visitors e.g. Brentano, Beethoven or Goethe. In November 1944, Allied bombers destroyed the temple completely.
The temple was rebuilt 2006.
