Pan Am 1971

My wife's maiden flight as a Stewardess with Pan Am in 1971. She's being awarded a ceremonial nightstick by the US Army Military Police and German Police (Landespolizei)in recognition of her secretarial work with the Stuttgart police departments prior to starting for Pan AM. The police nightstick has a brass placque embedded which says "Safe and Happy Landings Always". She flew for Pan AM for about three years before deciding to quit and care for me.

A rare pict. of smiles all over, with Pan Am and M.P.'s united from their best sides in those days, indeed quite a treasury!

Very interesting, without those details it would just be another old photo.

What a great moment to have preserved in film. She's as lovely as can be. I can easily understand why you are so glad that she chose to leave Pan Am and join Fly Tom.

Nice photo and a VERY beautiful woman. I just don't get why she would give up a promising career for you. Welt, there goes another nights sleep.

Nice gesture and story. The plane's door handle is familiar to me, as for two summers I worked at a plating factory in Seattle that anodized those handles, among many other things. I still remember the sharp titanium clips used to hold those handles to the anodizing racks.
