I was conceived in Macao in 1959, and other than that, was only there once, in 1966 or maybe 67, a special trip while we lived in Kowloon. I loved it. My Dad had been delivering a CARE milk program in 1958-59, in Macao. One of the languages I've been slowly learning, is Portuguese, and only recently did it occur to me that, wait! I was conceived in a Portuguese-speaking place.

I can fix this foto to be a scene of the inner harbour of Macau, b'cause I recognised the background is my family's home town-Zhuhai.
most definitely what is called the 'inner harbour' i lived 500m up the road to the left in 77/78. by then we had the 'outer harbour' where the jetfoils and hydrofoils moored. the big ferries still came here. the hills behind are china. i never set foot there even though i lived 19 years on its doorstep!
I think this is Yuen Long, another fishing community, this time in the New Territories. I'm not 100% sure so I'll e-mail this to my mother and see if she remembers ! Another beautiful shot.
