Dear Tom
Thank God for your photos. The Haw Par Mansion and the small garden are the only survivors of this heavenly estate i.e. the rest is all gone to the merciless real estate developer. It was open to the public yesterday, I went, but could no more find the spot up hill of my childhood memory. My Dad used to bring us there, we were living in the nearby Tai Hang. I stood everywhere in the mansion, on the balcony, in the penthouse etc. and wondered - how many important guests had been entertained here. Those were the golden bygone days of colonial Hong Kong in the 50's and 60's. Eileen uranus122@hotmail.com

I lived at Estoril Court ~Bldg 3 in 1966 and went to Royden House!! We watched in horror the landslide and things belonging to people going down the hillside during the typhoon. Anita -anita.taheer@gmail.com

I can see the apartments we lived at...Estoril Court on Garden Road...the building at the bottom which is partially covered by a tree. It was at the corners of Garden Road, Magazine Gap Road, and Robinson Road, near the Botanical Gardens and Peak Tram, just above the Macdonnell Road station. Those buildings are long gone now.
