Stayed at hotel on VictoriaPeak, pepper steak dinner table side on the Verandah. Beautiful and spacious accommodations. Unfortunately called back to USS Intrepid,
CVA-11 in early morning due to fire on another aircraft carrier. Most beautiful and
Memorable moments in my life. I was 20 yo. Early morning fog traveling down mountain to Hong Kong in Mercedes taxi. Lighting on road was exquisite. Thanks
for bringing back those memories. Ray K

Just went back after 50 years (1965 to 1971). Great change but still HK and the Mountains never change! Visited my old school and homes. Wish we had the wonderful MTR back then. Peak Tram and Trams along the Front still the same.

I meant 1966, obviously.. I was not at the Battle of Hastings.

I still can't believe this picture. I was living in Estoril Court in 1066, the lower, slightly right of center, building..the left building, second floor, overlooking Garden Road. I attended King George V School then. The memories I have of those days are etched in my brain forever. David Griswold dbgrizzz@gmail.com

As a young boy in the late 60s I had the immense priviledge of living on the Peak - the view from our flat was pretty much exactly what you have captured.
I have lived my whole life with this fantastic panorama etched in my memory. Thank you so much for bring back wonderful memories.

Very good photo. The runway of the old Kai Tak airport must be the straight line on the top right of the image. Landing there was a real treat. Airliners flew in from the left of the picture and took a right turn onto final approach just before hitting the mountain (there was a big red checkerboard on the mountainside as a warning). And more memories. Wow.
