The Floating Market

There are many canals that lace through Bangkok and which are main traffic arteries, albeit with boats. On these canals are all types of businesses run by local Thais ... most of which is produce. Although this photo was taken more than 40 years ago, I would venture that it's pretty much the same today.

Unfortunately the floating markets here are pretty much just for tourists nowadays.....
And most of the canals in Bangkok itself are not much more than sewers sometimes, smelly and full of rubbish.....such is progress. Wish I could have been here 40 years ago !
