On December 31st, 2015, Cargill closed their feedmill in Brandon, ending a chapter of Brandon's heritage.
The mill itself is one of the only remaining McCabe Grain Company/National Feedmills left in Western Canada.
Beside the mill, is the last remaining elevator in Brandon, over the past few years has fallen into a dilapidated state.
A city that was nicknamed the "The Wheat City" for it's elevators and grain production. Soon the last remaining link to the cities long heritage as a grain shipping point will cease to exist.
This week I was afforded the opportunity to go and be one of the last people to ever set foot in the facility.
