may 5th

by may 5th it's still too cold to rent the rototiller and dig up my garden by the lake
so I put on my sweater and my jacket and took a walk down there
I've spent some hours picking and pitchforking over the last month
a bunch of green stuff is pokin' its head up through the soil
and I wanted to see how my plants are doing
