Details of Jerome's RS
Cleared my Toaster out, rolled in the RS and pulled the tank.
Jerome got to work disassembling the fork top.
Some tough to reach places.
Instrument bracket was tricky to wiggle out.
Found the bearing castle nut barely hand tight - not good.
Some instrument brackets hit the TT brace buttress and have to be shaved.
Ground off a tad of material around the radius.
Lots of variation in these brackets. This one finally set in snug.
TT stem nut snugged down to seat the brace and check fork tube reveal. They were a bit low.
Couldn't use a socket with the damper rod so tool kit spanner & a couple good whacks.
Seating the tube top bolts on the TT spacers.
The final 35 ft/lbs on the tube bolts to seat and seal the forks. They play no part in holding forks now.
Jerome pulling the studs out of the riser caps for longer bolts.
Getting the new riser bolts in from underneath was tricky with stuff in the way.
A bit of adjusting here and there to get everything to fit in the fairing.
Everything tightened down and final inspection.
The new brace and stem nut will ensure a solid, positive handling.
The triumphant duo!
