I recently noticed something lifting a 6 inch round patch of blacktop on our driveway. At first, I thought a tree root was trying to push through but when I investigated it further, it was actually a yellow/orange type mushroom, very solid and difficult to dig out. I finally removed it all but now have a hole on the driveway, what type of fungi was it & how can I prevent my driveway looking like swiss cheese in the future?

I found blue almost translucent mushrooms in my garden today. They were about 2inches high and had the shape of the normal button mushrooms you find in the shops They were absolutely beautiful. Any body know what type they were.

today 27/8/2017 i brought home a mushroom golden brown on top and underneath the gills are tightly set. the top is very large with the circumference is perfectly saw toothed. what is it and is it edible?

I have 2 photos of 2 different fungi I cannot find on these photos. One is 36" across the other about 16-18". On the ground, one white the other golden. Many layers. Could I send photos to someone for identification?

I found a mushroom in the community garden plot of someone that let their plot get weedy and neglected - I cannot find it anywhere on the web - It is a large - about the size of a tea saucer or a bit larger rather flat mushroom - brown with a pretty design that looks like a sunflower and in fact the entire circumference is perfectly saw toothed - I looked up sawtooth mushroom to see if it was named after such. I will try to get a picture of it but if anyone has any idea what this is please comment. Thanks!

I have found a mushroom that is round about 3-4 in tall. Puffball like is not a ball. Brown and has light brown top. I have a pic I can send. Hoping to find out my new find.

What is IMG_7989.JPG in Sudbury MA? Does it evolve from a pearly white pool of liquid on a maple log, by any chance? I think I had that in Southern Vermont a few years ago on a log on my patio. It was beautiful and surprising.

I have found a mushroom right in my backyard. It has a flat, slightly red, orangish cap with many white spots that strongly resemble soggy breadcrumbs.It has a little large bulb at the end of the stem, and at the top of the stem under the cap, it is suprisingly soft. Any ideas what it could be?

I have found a giant mushroom near my home in Co. Waterford Ireland. It is Smooth skinned on top with another smaller ball and root underneath which is not so smooth. It is approx. 130mm x 100 . Any ideas. I have a photo

I found a bright red 'growth' on a tree near Sharpness UK - it is smooth, resilient to touch, 3inches diameter and I can't find anything similar in your pictures. Can I send you a photo with another of a decaying one for your mycologist friend to identify?

i have a normal looking mushroom with a small & flat circle on the top, surrounded by sloped edges, and packed with gills, it's all white, and yet i can't find it here. has a ring around the stem and about 2 inches high. simple enough, but I can't find it on any website i look! if you want, i can send a picture. just send a request to my old gmail.

Strange mushroom sprouted overnight in my Miami Fl. garden. Deep Red morell-lie cap with black "eye" Looks a bit like a Sith warrior from Star Wars. about 3 inches high, 2.5 wide. drawing lots of flies and seems to be deteriorating quickly. Beautiful but kinda angry-looking. Foto available

Hi, loved your pictures. I live in Lake Tahoe and we have many interesting mushrooms growing here. But today I spotted a really unusual group. They are a perfect orange thin cup and black on the stem and black side. They are about the size of a dime. They hold a tiny bit of water in the cup. They almost look metallic. I will try and send you a photo.

I have pictures of a mushroom growing in grass that is unlike any pictures above, no one has ever seen one like it and it's never been identified I would like to share these pictures with anyone who may be able to tell me what it is, I live in northern mi, found in the fall of the year it has the appearance of a stingray about 14 inches X 8 inches in size white on top with a morel look to all the underside

The purple moss guy, I'm looking at it now and it's a small piece of moss but the whole thing is purple and in the middle it has a brown/dark purple look to it and they are shaped like leaves but there not leaves. Hard to explain without the picture.

I saw what I thought was a tennis ball in our lower yard near our eucalyptus tree. I kicked it and it opened up and gold dust went flying. Any name for this mushroom? We have far too many and fear the dog will think it is one of her tennis balls. This is the 2nd year we have spotted this type. Thanks

i found a bright pink like a hot pink in the forest at wells next the see it was hot pink on the top with a light pink stalk could you tell me what sort this is please, also i found a leopard print one with no idea what that was either. they were both in different areas on their own no other ones in sight.

I also found a polypore with a red shallacked stalk and a marshmallow looking top. I can't figure out what it is. I have 2 good pictures taken a couple weeks ago in the Maple Valley, WA area of Puget Sound in a mixed conifer Doug Fir/ Western Red Cedar/ Big Leaf Maple intact forest. I have also found one that is not pictured. It looks like a marshmallow atop a stalk of dried gorilla glue. The stalk is hard and morphs upwardly from brown to gold and appears as if shellacked. The top looks almost exactly like a marshmallow in shape, size and texture. Does anyone know what this could be? It is very interesting to look at!

I found a mushroom in my yard,about three inches high and the cap about two inches around. When dug up the cap disinagrated into a rust powder form and the stem look as if it had seeds in it.The mushroom was a rust dark brown color. I live in vero florida and have never seen anything like it. WHAT IS IT?

Hi Tom, In looking over your extensive collection of photos, I was unable to spot the very unusual fungi/mushrooms growing in my heavily mulched yard located in coastal South Carolina(Low Country). They are orange, average about "2-3" in height, and are shaped like square houses with large windows and a like hole in the "roof". As they emerge from the ground, the look like they have an eggshell top with a slimy eyeball beneath. I'll be happy to send you photos. Thanks.

I have a small raised bed that I use to grow lettuce and herbs. Today I noticed that I'm also growing mushrooms. They push through the dirt in bunches - top about the size of a hatpin head - the bigger ones are about 1/2 inch across, dome shaped, and maroon color with a velvety look. Any ideas? I live in ontario, Canada, I found this weird looking mushroom ( I think It was a mushroom).. But it was a redish pinkish colour and look almost like a nerf dart thingy.. I work on a golf course and took a picture of a mushroom and have never seen it anywhere on your pictures or anywhere else. It looked like an unbrella about three inches round with holes about 3/8`s round and you could not see a stem do you know what kind of mushroom this is?
