I've seen this lizard by my shed for 2 or 3 yrs. All I have to do is tell my dog, Lula, that her lizard is out and she runs out to his favorite rock. T0day, the temp was 38 degrees all day and i saw my other dog, Cindy Lou, playing with something and throwing it up in the air. He was quite cold to the touch, so I put him in a box with a heating pad under it and he has rallied. I placed a jar lid with water in his temporary cage and will try to buy some crickets or meal worms from the pet supply store tomorrow. The temp should get up into the low 80's this week, so I'll turn him loose.

There was one in my driveway sitting next to the car in Austin. Yesterday. It was about 8" long, beautiful and pretty fearless.

I just found two on my pile of burn wood outside by my house. They are awesome. Didn't think they would be here in southern Florida

Well, found this website to figure out what type lizard I have been seeing and yep, this is the one! I thought I only had one. I had seen it around for 2-3 years, but today I caught 2 of the little boogers together, so I have at least 2. They are so awesome. They look like a cross between a lizard and a horned toad. Love em.

We just found what appears to be a Texas Spiny Lizard in Granbury, Texas. Half of it's tail was missing. It's the first one we've seen here.

my tom cat killed one of these and left it at my back door...scary. He also likes to kill the little pink geckos, but this is the first large lizard i've found.

I have lived in south texas for all my life and two days ago was the first time I spotted one of these, as one who collects lizards you would think that I have run into one of these but they are quite a rare find. I didnt even know they existed haha!

I've lived in North Texas north of Dallas for over 30 years. I saw one of these for the first time this summer. Are they migrating North or are they just shy?

Someone asked what type of lizard this one is. It also looks to be a texas spiney lizard. I've heard them refered to as Spiney Tree lizard as well
