Star-nosed Mole - Condylura cristata

Groton, Ma.

I've been seeing lots of tunnels in my yard and this is the first time I've seen the mole. Unfortunately this one had died and I photographed it as it was when I found it.

Terrific shot of this mole which looks like it might have died very shortly before you photographed it. I rarely see live moles, always dead on the trail. V
