Snowy Owl - Bubo scandiacus

Salisbury State Park, Ma.

This Snowy was out on the breakwater with waves splashing over the rocks. When I was processing the photos, I noticed a transmitter antenna sticking up from the owls back.

Nice find Tom - - this is an owl I've hoped to see in our area of Virginia; not yet, but I'm still waiting - nice capture. There has been one hanging around Dulles airport, but not a place I want to see one at.

Not the usual snowy field that one usually sees in photos of this species; very interesting backdrop, and interesting about the antennae too. Someone is tracking this one. Excellent shot. V
