This cardinal is one of the birds coming to my feeders during a blizzard that left 13" of snow and strong winds.

That's a hot colour to have in mid-winter; almost enough to melt the snow around it.

There's nothing like a cardinal in the depths of winter to add brightness and beauty and colour to the white landscape. A beautiful shot. Sounds like you got hit by that fierce storm heading up the east coast. Here, it is just plain cold, -39 with the windchill.V
