I just wanted to complement you on your balanced posts on the Sigma Forum. I would have thanked you there, but while owning both a SD9 and a Canon, and having the audacity to post side by side images of their relative low-light performance -- I was banned from posting on the forum :(
There are a few regulars on that forum that truly believe that it's their private club, forgetting that -- for every one post -- there are probably a 100+ who never post, but could still benefit from a healthy range of user opinion -- which burns the "old-regulars" up :)
On that forum, I've seen guys recommend the SD for photo journalistic work -- even though anyone who used the camera knows that it is worst in it's class -- at high iso/low light conditions.
Considering that the cost of that camera is not insignificant to some people's budgets -- that's a terrible thing to do.
A camera is just a tool. But some would have you believe that it's impossible to shoot good photos -- without Foveon (so i guess it wasn't possible to shoot a good photo before the foveon chip was invented :)
