The Basin includes large areas in California, Oregon, Utah and most of Nevada. It also include some areas in Wyoming, Idaho and Baja California. The rock art in this region can be ascribed to hunter-gatherer groups termed "Western Archaic" culture group. We know them today as the northern and southern Paiute, Shoshoni, and Ute.
