A set of Photographs taken on a sunny October Saturday afternoon at Foxton Locks on the Grand Union Canal.

"Foxton's famous staircase lock flight was built in 1810. A masterpiece of 19th century engineering, it raised boats a massive 75ft up the hill from Market Harborough and linked the north and south of England by canal."

The walk started at the top of the hill and went alongside the disused arm, to the East of the lock flight, that leads to the top of the Inclined Plane Boat Lift site. The route then headed across to the main canal at the top of the lock flight and the Top Lock Cottage then down the locks to the junction with the Market Harborough arm.
On the way back up the locks, a couple of boats were ascending so the lock gate and valve operation was observed along with the boaters and their spectators.
Finally, the walk headed back to the top of the old inclined plane and alongside the disused arm again to the top car park.
